Peter Smart

Partner - Head of Corporate

Peter Smart is head of Corporate and has almost 30 years’ experience in corporate finance. Peter is also a past Managing Partner of Walker Morris and is the current Chairman of the firm.

Peter's particular strengths are in project managing larger deals, negotiating key issues and solving major deal-related problems.

Most of Peter's client work is done at board level, where he acts as principal corporate adviser to the board on matters of great substance or acute sensitivity. He is, from time to time, asked to provide independent advice to the boards of companies for which Walker Morris is not the retained adviser.

Peter is himself a director of a number of companies, both public and private, and has seen contested and recommended take-over bids from both sides of the fence, as a director and as an adviser.

Peter acts as senior relationship partner for a number of the firm's major clients.
