Meet Mark's team

High quality, focused and digestible advice

Mark is a Partner in our Real Estate Team who focuses on all core real estate areas.  This includes landlord and tenant; property finance (with a particular focus on the alternative lender sector); development; sales and purchases. Mark likes to use IT and where possible he employs process mapping to make legal processes more efficient and risk free.

Mark’s work covers a wide range of practice areas, which means he deals with everything from local developers to internationally established retailers and funders.

Knowing that he’s added value to a client’s business is what motivates Mark and his focus is always on his client’s transaction experience. This means he can deliver high quality, focused and easily digestible advice within the commercial framework that his client operates.  “I always try and focus on the client’s commercial aims for the transaction.  I want to deliver a service that will enable those goals to be met as quickly as possible, but I also try and de-risk every transaction from a legal and commercial perspective.”

Delivering a high quality and speedy service across a large number of workstreams can be challenging, but Mark approaches it with hard work and a relentless focus on the end goal.

Mark describes his working style as unassuming, but also says “I’m not afraid of putting in long hours to deliver the service our clients expect”.

Mark used to be a professional footballer and discovered law while training and attending college for one and a half days a week. A-level law classes fitted into his schedule and he eventually went on to study it at university. The rest, as they say, is history.

Mark is co-head of Walker Morris’ alternative lender sub-group and sits on our innovation committee where he looks at how we can harness technology to improve efficiencies.
