Rob is a Partner in our Finance Dispute Resolution Team.  He advises on the full spectrum of Financial Services Litigation, including high value disputes and project work.  Rob’s work is focused on the early identification and resolution of disputes and wider risk issues, as well as in the facilitation of transactional restructures and insolvency processes, working alongside the wider Finance and Restructuring teams.

Rob also works closely with colleagues in the Financial Services Regulatory Team, as the contentious issues his clients face always have a regulatory context. His clients range from high street banks to niche finance providers – and everything in between.

Delivering tailored solutions

Rob says, “I love to get under the skin of organisations to really understand their strategic priorities, values, customer base and products.  That way we deliver truly tailored solutions to their issues”.

With over 20 years of market expertise and dedication to the sector, Rob describes himself as “always alive to the wider impact of any dispute on a client’s customers, reputation or products” and he believes collaboration has a key role to play in this: “we bring the right team to any issue and work in partnership with the client”.  His aim is to be regarded as an integral part of his client’s business.

An agile approach

The evolving regulatory environment and diversity of clients found in the financial services sector means that nothing ever stands still, but Rob says it’s this that drives him forward – keeping him agile and always focused on the objectives of his clients.  The Walker Morris culture also helps – with a single site and sector focus that enhances the ability to work across specialisms and bring a truly coordinated approach to the client base.

Rob describes his journey to Finance Dispute Resolution as a result of his “fundamental interest in what drives people and businesses to make the decisions they do and how they react to issues of stress and dispute”.  The diversity of the sector – in terms of issues and markets – also appeals and Rob finds it fascinating being right at the heart of the commercial world.

Rob works as a mentor and is a qualified mental health first aider.  He is also the partner representative on the Walker Morris Charity Committee.
