Jessica has worked in law since 2014, but came to Regulatory and Compliance Law during her first seat as a trainee with Walker Morris LLP in September 2017, and qualified into the team in May 2019.

Jessica specialises in Regulatory and Compliance Law, which in itself consists of various specialisms such as financial services regulation (including retail consumer finance and wholesale financial services), data protection, anti-bribery and corruption, and international trade.

Jessica assists a wide variety of clients from start-ups, to large corporates to institutional funders in the UK and US. In relation to financial services regulation, clients include regulated businesses such as lenders, challenger banks and investment firms.

Our clients are generally looking for accurate and responsive answers on how the relevant regulations apply to them. This requires specific knowledge of existing and upcoming regulations. Jessica offers critical and commercial advice about how best to comply with the regulations, and how to manage and anticipate relevant risks in the regulatory and compliance arena.

Jessica excels at navigating specific, detailed regulations for a client, by breaking down the applicable law, and applying research and logical reasoning skills to translate this into a real life practice or exercise which can be applied to client businesses. Previous Chambers unpublished market feedback has praised Jessica for her ability to “make things incredibly clear and easy to follow“.

Jessica is very organised and diligent, always has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and is an effective communicator. Attention to detail, logical-thinking and reasoning skills are all strengths of Jessica’s, providing her the ability to apply detailed critical-thinking. She can devise internal practices and procedures, advising clients on their proposed actions to ensure compliance on the ground.
