Our Net Zero Strategy

We’re excited to announce the launch of our Net Zero strategy, our approach to achieving our target of reaching Net Zero status by 2040.

Over the past year, we’ve worked with SLR, a specialist Net Zero consultancy. This collaboration has allowed us to form a comprehensive strategy and establish a clear approach to achieving our goals.

We’re proud to share that our strategy has been approved by the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). This validation is a significant achievement as it not only shows that our strategy is ambitious, but also that it’s scientifically sound and aligns with global efforts to combat climate change.

Our Net Zero strategy contains all operational Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions. This includes emissions from sources we own or control directly, emissions we cause indirectly from the energy we purchase and use, and emissions we’re indirectly responsible for, such as those produced by suppliers.

We’re committed to tracking our progress annually and aim to reduce our emissions by 42% by 2030, a short-term goal that aligns with our long-term target of reaching Net Zero status by 2040. We’ll meet these aims through a combination of carbon reduction measures, procuring renewable energy, carbon reduction in our supply chain, and offsetting residual emissions through purchasing certified carbon credits.

David O’Neill, Head of Facilities commented: “This ambitious plan is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and to making a positive impact on our planet.”
