Our leading Regulatory & Compliance team strengthened with the appointment of former Food Standards Agency Head of Legal, Chris McGarvey

Chris McGarvey brings over 25 years’ experience in both public and private sector organisations. As the former head of the Legal Team at the Food Standards Agency (FSA) during the challenging times of Brexit and Covid-19, he’s gained exceptional expertise in navigating complex regulatory frameworks.

He brings a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of food law topics, allowing us to provide strong support to our clients at every stage of the food and drink production and distribution process. From raw material production (farm and field) to new product development and innovation—including the regulation of novel, genetically modified, and gene-edited foods. He’s also highly experienced in handling food safety incidents, investigations, and consumer protection issues, like the recent e-coli outbreak.
