L&D Business Partner

Are you an experienced learning and development leader?

We are recruiting for a L&D Business Partner to drive the firm’s L&D strategy and deliver engaging training solutions.

We’re not your average law firm. In our recent engagement survey, when asked what the #1 great thing was about working here, the answer was “the people”.  With 500 driven professionals, we’ve a commitment to our inclusive, people-first culture. We value our people – and that’s where you come in. We need an L&D superhero to elevate our learning and development strategy to the next level.

As our L&D Business Partner, you’ll be at the heart of our people strategy, working alongside leaders across the firm to create and deliver engaging training. You’ll help our employees grow their skills, enhance their careers, and contribute to the overall success of the firm.

You’ll be designing learning programmes, delivering training, and bringing your L&D expertise to create meaningful change – and yes, you’ll even get to have some fun along the way!

We know L&D isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we’re giving you the autonomy to innovate and lead. You’ll get to make a real impact in a firm that values professional growth. Plus, you’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team who’ll celebrate your wins and offer support when needed.

We offer hybrid working at Walker Morris, so you’ll be able to split your time between home and the office, with 2-3 days in the office per week.  We’re also all based on one site in Leeds city centre, so you won’t need to travel around the country for any face-to-face training.

What you’ll be doing as the L&D Business Partner:

  • Partner with leaders to understand business needs and deliver bespoke learning solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative L&D initiatives, from workshops to leadership programmes.
  • Shape our culture by supporting employee engagement, onboarding, and career development
  • Collaborate with external providers and bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve and evolve our learning offerings.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a similar L&D role, ideally within a professional services environment or law firm.
  • L&D qualifications such as CIPD or coaching qualifications such as ILM or CMI L5/7 is preferred but not essential.
  • Good content knowledge of soft skills training with experience of designing and implementing leadership and management training programmes.
  • Proven experience delivering engaging and impactful presentations, and strong facilitation skills.
  • Experienced using digital training technologies to enable a blended learning approach.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
