Walker Morris scoops Property Law Firm of the Year Award

Real Estate Team recognised at the Yorkshire Insider Property Awards

The Walker Morris Real Estate Team has been announced as winner of the Yorkshire Business Insider Property Law Firm of the Year Award – recognising it as the leading law firm in this field in the region.

The Awards recognise and celebrate the very best in the Yorkshire property sector over the past 12 months and were presented by television presenter, Mark Durden-Smith, at Leeds’ Royal Armouries Museum. In selecting Walker Morris for the accolade judges “praised Walker Morris for showing flair and agility across varied schemes”.

The Award follows a busy year for the Team having delivered on over £2.5 billion worth of national and international deals, including: advising Terra Firma on the real estate aspects of the £980 million sale of the Odeon Cinema Group to AMC Entertainment and advising landowner, YP REAL ESTATE LIMITED, on the sale of the iconic former Yorkshire Post Headquarters site in Leeds City Centre to Grainger.

Nick Cannon, Head of the Real Estate Group at Walker Morris, said:

“We’re delighted to receive this Property Law Firm of the Year award, which is a great achievement and testament to the fantastic clients we work with and the tremendous effort by the whole Walker Morris team, not just in the Real Estate Team but from specialist lawyers across the firm.

“It’s the quality of our people which will enable us to continue to grow and succeed. As such, we’ve been committed to our long-standing strategy of investing in leading individuals, coupled with offering a broad range of expertise and a focus on complex transactions.  This strategy, underpinned by our single-site centre of excellence and independent status, has continued to win favour with clients on a national and international basis.”

The Walker Morris Real Estate Team is one of the largest single site real estate groups in the UK outside of London and ranked in Tier 1 for commercial property in both Legal 500 and Chambers.
