Walker Morris LLP will be attending, speaking and exhibiting at the LGG Annual Governance Conference 2013 at County Hall, London on 26 – 28 November 2013. Our Public Sector team and Renewables, Energy and Resources Group will be at the event and will be happy to talk to you whether about general local government issues or about renewables and the ‘green’ agenda. We are looking forward to catching up with our existing clients and contacts and meeting new ones.
Richard Auton is holding Break-out Session 2a on Thursday 28 November at 9.30-10.15am on Delivering Energy Efficiency and Renewables in Local Government.
Our Local Government Team offers unrivalled experience and first hand knowledge and understanding of local authorities from the many in-house positions which our lawyers have held including: Chief Executive, Borough Secretary, Director of Law and Administration, City Clerk, and Monitoring Officer. This means that we can offer advice on a full range of local authority legal issues, including vires, governance, procurement, employment, shared services, property, litigation, and freedom of information. We are active in a number of specialist areas including education, planning, leisure, waste, outsourcing, renewables, energy & resources housing and health.
Walker Morris and the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) have developed an innovative partnership to help APSE support its members in driving forward initiatives related to the renewable and energy agenda. As part of the partnership, the Walker Morris Renewables, Energy & Resources Group will provide strategic and practical support on energy efficiency and renewable energy issues combining its experience of the sector with that of its recognised public sector team. APSE’s members will be able to access the partnership in a number of ways; from participating in collaborative working or individually supported initiatives through to access to advice at preferential rates, articles, research and a planned joint training and consultancy programme. The partnership also aims to develop benchmarking for energy efficiency and renewable energy in the sector.
