Welcome to our latest Technology & Digital round-up of legal and non-legal tech-related news stories. This edition covers: the Law Commission’s digital assets report; the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the latest on AI; and much more.
“With publication of the Law Commission’s final report on digital assets we’re reminded that the flexibility of English law makes this the ideal jurisdiction for resolving legal issues in this evolving space.
In last month’s Technology & Digital round-up we talked about the establishment of a UK-US ‘data bridge’. We’re now waiting for the UK to follow the EU and issue its own adequacy decision to kick start the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. A note of caution; privacy activist Max Schrems (who brought down the two previous regimes) has already said a challenge to the new Framework could reach the Court of Justice of the European Union by the end of the year.” – Luke Jackson
