Join us for breakfast, enjoy catching up with fellow pensions professionals and hear our latest thoughts on:
- Trips and slips in the journey to buy-out: many schemes are aiming for buy-out, and much work is needed to make schemes ‘buy-out ready’. Benefit specifications can throw up costly benefit discrepancies. Issues can surface between buy-in and buy-out. We will look at some of the pitfalls (and solutions) we have come across.
- Surpluses on winding-up: How should trustees approach the repayment of surplus? Where the proposal is to repay to the employer, what process must be followed and how should member feedback about that be dealt with? We will discuss these and other practical questions.
- Virgin Media decision: has the Government come to the rescue? Will the Verity Trust case provide help? What should trustees do next?
- Spring statement 2025: will the Chancellor’s statement on 26 March contain any pensions announcements? If so, we will provide an overview.
