Carly Thorpe named finalist at the 2025 WICE Awards

The WICE Awards aim to make the construction and engineering sector more enticing to women by creating role models for those considering a career in these fields. It also encourages companies to employ and train more women, fostering greater diversity and inclusion within the industry.

This year, WICE received an incredible 400 nominations, with only 152 individuals shortlisted for their contributions to the industry. Carly is 1 of just 5 finalists in the Construction Law category. Carly is proud to be among these exceptional women who are shaping the future of construction and engineering.

Carly commented: “I’m truly honoured to be named as a finalist in the WICE Awards. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of an initiative that highlights the contributions of women in construction and engineering. I hope this recognition inspires more women from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in these dynamic and impactful industries.”

Carly was nominated by our Head of Construction & Engineering, Tom Peel, for leading high-value construction disputes that have shaped new law, advocating for diversity in law and construction, increasing women adjudicators in the UK, and mentoring junior lawyers.

Tom commented: “Carly is a formidable force of nature who works tirelessly to deliver results for her clients. She is dedicated to improving diversity in the legal profession and volunteers her time to numerous initiatives to help ensure that young people see what a successful female Partner looks like”.
