We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve raised an incredible £12,065 for Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity. This marks a great achievement in our charitable efforts and is the first time we’ve fundraised for this amazing cause, chosen because it’s particularly meaningful for our secretary, Sara Wane.
Over the past year, our Charity Committee has pulled out all the stops to bring our people together and support this vital cause. Some highlights include our Annual Quiz Night and Christmas Raffle, 6 brave colleagues taking the plunge in a Sky Dive, and a fun and competitive Partner Cocktail Challenge that brought all colleagues together.
Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by brain tumours. Their mission is to provide practical, emotional, and financial support to those in need, while also funding crucial research to improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for patients.
Fiona Harris-Hunt from Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity commented:
“Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity was thrilled to be chosen as Charity of the Year by Walker Morris. Their efforts have raised a fantastic amount of money to support families impacted by brain tumour diagnoses across Yorkshire.
Since we receive no government funding, partnerships like this one with Walker Morris are crucial. They enable us to reach even more families in need across the region.
We were particularly pleased with how involved the entire Walker Morris team were with fundraising for YBTC – from hosting charity quiz nights and bake sales, to taking on daring challenges like a 10,000ft sky dive, the 21.5-mile Coastal Ramble from Whitby to Scarborough, and running the Leeds 10K!
We can’t thank Walker Morris enough. Together we’ve changed the lives of families impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis across Yorkshire for the better!”
Charlotte Bontoft, Chair of our Charity Committee, added: “We’re over the moon with the success of our fundraising efforts for Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity. This cause is very close to our hearts, and we’re incredibly proud of the dedication and generosity shown by everyone involved. We hope our contribution will make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by brain tumours across Yorkshire.”
