Adhiraj is a Senior Associate in our Corporate team. He has over 9 years’ experience in the industry and primarily represents domestic and international clients in cross border M&A transactions, advising on both inbound and outbound investments from India, joint ventures and other business combination transactions. Before joining us, Adhiraj was a part of the corporate team at several Tier 1 law firms in India.

Adhiraj has experience working with clients from a range of sectors including fintech, banking and finance, e-commerce, infrastructure and tourism and hospitality.

Deals:

1. Demerger & Disinvestment of NMDC’s Iron & Steel Plant: Represented the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (Government of India) in the demerger and disinvestment of NMDC Limited’s 3 MTPA Iron & Steel Plant. Led the demerger process, coordinated with advisors and government stakeholders, and advised on key regulatory and stock exchange approvals. This transaction was awarded ‘Impact Deal of the Year’ at the Asialaw Awards 2023.
2. Advising Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) in India: Assisted MMC with its India operations, including the acquisition of India Life Capital Private Limited (a SEBI-registered investment adviser) and Indusylnk Training Services Private Limited (an assessment solutions provider). Also supported the India leg of MMC’s sale of its US large market and defined benefits administration business to Morneau Shepell. Played a key role in drafting, negotiating, and finalizing transaction documents.
3. Multiples Asset Management’s Investment in Svatantra Microfin: Represented Multiples Asset Management in the largest private equity investment in India’s microfinance sector. Led negotiations, drafting, and finalization of transaction documents, assisted in obtaining competition and banking regulatory approvals, and facilitated closing.
