Rachel is a Director in our Regulatory & Compliance Team who focuses on contentious environmental work.  This includes health, safety and environmental work, as well as some more varied regulatory advisory work.

Typical clients for Rachel are housebuilders, construction companies and food manufacturers.

Rachel says, “Having worked for a regulator for a number of years – where everything is black and white, I really enjoy defending clients because you really get to know their business and why things happened the way they did. I particularly enjoy working hard for a client and getting them the outcome they deserve, whether that’s making proceedings disappear, providing good mitigation on a guilty plea, or running a successful defence in contested proceedings”.

Rachel’s approach to client work is all about taking the time to understand her client’s business so that she can provide them with the best possible advice. She has excellent commercial awareness and her unique insight into the way a regulator works means she can develop a strong rapport with officers and deliver the right outcome for her clients.

While dealing with regulators can be challenging at times, Rachel says, “I maintain a professional and helpful approach which is usually successful”.

Rachel’s is known for her relaxed and approachable style of working and she pays particular attention to detail.
